The five-member Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the County of Los Angeles. Created by the state Legislature in 1852, the Board has executive, legislative and quasi-judicial roles. Members are elected by voters in their respective districts and are limited to three to four-year terms.
Our current County Supervisor is Holly Mitchell (2nd District)
Los Angeles County’s Second District lines have changed due to redistricting which occur every ten years. The areas added to the district now are El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach along with the unincorporated community of Marina Del Rey and the Fairfax / Park La Brea and Larchmont Village neighborhoods of Los Angeles (see a list of all areas below).
