Dear LHCA Community,
Following up on last week’s announcement, we want to express our sincere gratitude to Marian Ensley from Mayor Karen Bass’s Office and to the mayor herself for their exceptional leadership. Thanks to the proactive efforts of LHCA and engaged Ladera residents, the opportunity for children living in the Los Angeles City portion of Ladera to transfer to LAUSD—rather than Inglewood USD—was brought to their attention. This is a significant victory for families with school-aged children in our community!
For those interested in transferring their child to LAUSD now or within the next four years, an interest list is being compiled. This list is crucial in assessing community demand. The Mayor’s Office and school district are currently determining which department will oversee and track this process, and we will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
Please share this update with your neighbors in the 90056-zip code who reside within Los Angeles City limits, as this opportunity applies only to city residents and not those in LA County.
Thank you again to everyone involved for making this possible!
LHCA Board of Directors
