It’s Election Season again and time to begin the annual process of selecting members to serve on the LHCA Board of Directors. This year’s election will fill seven (7) two-year terms on the Board of Directors. All LHCA members who are current with their dues payment are eligible to run for a seat on the Board.
The LHCA needs committed volunteers who are willing to devote some of their time and energy to continue our efforts in keeping Ladera a beautiful and vibrant community. Our current Board members serve on various committees. Although Covid 19 continues to present challenges with in-person meetings, committee members still work to coordinate our virtual Community Meetings, the monthly neighborhood cleanup campaign, interacting with Supervisor Holly Mitchell’s Office on important neighborhood issues, collaborating with City officials on the upcoming major redesign and beautification of the La Cienega corridor, and meeting regularly with Sheriff Department staff to address concerns on neighborhood safety.
Despite Covid challenges, the LHCA Board still managed to bring our community together this year with some fantastic outdoor activities. You may have recently attended our Mix and Mingle event at the Wateridge Plaza, or the Family Picnic at Ladera Park featuring games, prizes, and In and Out Burger. Later this month, LHCA is partnering with Parent School to sponsor a Family Movie Night. The above are just a few of the activities and advocacy efforts that your Board members are involved in.
The LHCA also provides financial donations each year to our local AYSO Soccer League, Ladera Little League Baseball, LaTijera and Parent School PTAs, Ladera Senior Center, Sheriff’s Sub-Station, and the Ladera Pet Project.
