Neighbors,

The County Supervisor is now accepting applications for vendors to fulfill the Budget initiatives for Ladera. We would love for a vendor within the community to participate.

Here are the approved plans:

1.   Tree and Common Area Improvement Project – ($150,000 - $250,000)

•    This project aims to improve the perimeter common areas by adding brick-and-mortar community signs (Ladera Heights) and planting climate-specific trees and landscape features to increase the aesthetic values of neighborhoods and support environmental and public health benefits.

2.     Active Minds, Healthy Lives Initiative – ($100,000 - $150,000)

Yvonne B. Burke Senior and Community Center

•     This initiative is designed to support the overall well-being of the community’s older adult residents by promoting digital literacy and encouraging physical activity. Adding digital literacy classes will provide older adults with the tools needed to stay connected with family, access essential online services, and participate in educational programs.

3.     Digital Literacy Empowerment – ($175,000)

Yvonne B. Burke Senior and Community Center

•     This project aims to establish a new program to provide technology classes for residents of all ages, aimed at improving digital skills and helping participants become more tech-savvy. The program will feature expert-led sessions, and upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and job placement assistance.

4.     Youth Digital Workforce Development ($200,000 - $300,000)

This project aims to provide funding for nonprofits to lead an employment and job training initiative for residents ages 14 to 24.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in this project to enhance the Ladera Heights Community! We are looking forward to the results!
